I have created this web-site to share ideas, obtain your critique, support and opinion. I expect to get in contact with people who share my life perspective. If you have an idea that you want to discuss, seek collaboration on the article, or just want to share something interesting, contact me.
About myself. I am interested in extending human lifespan. The reason for it is that I greatly enjoy understanding the world around me, learning how it is made and using what I have learned. I also enjoy getting to know people and, as most, care about those close to me. The problem is that neither me nor those who I love are made to live forever, so I won't be able to enjoy fully unless we extend human lifespan. Therefore I have decided to contribute to lifespan extension. I have started by studying biology and bioinformatics. Having computer science background resulted very helpful during bioinformatic master track at Leiden/Delft universities. I have followed a number of biology courses and at the end of the MsC managed to work with people who introduced me to the world of science: Herman Spaink, Andreas Bender and Michael Emmerich. After the completion of the master track I have approached Rudi Westendorp, and became a PhD student under his and Peter de Knijf supervision. During this program I have learned the vast possibilities of now a day genetics and thanks to Jeroen Pijpe learned the role of evolution in genetics. As of may 2012 I am in my final year of the PhD program with great expectations and ideas on how to archive my goal, that is, to extend human lifespan.
